hi, i have mg zr with a wide body kit on it and everyday with out fail i get pulled over for no reason whatsoever, they police check my car over then ask for the usual documents, then after they have confirmed that my car is legal and above board they come out with some rubbish that my cars noise levels are the reason for being pulled over, then they change there story to that i was driving unsafe even though i drive normally and stick to the speed limits as am not a speed freak i just like to have cars that look nicely dressed,

is the police allowed to harrass people who have spent there hard earned money on there cars so they look nice or is it just them really just want to look like there doing there job because its come o the point were am planning a lawsuit against them for harrasment because i do have things to do and inportant things that, and i forgot to say 98% of the time its the same 2 speedcops that pull me,

also neons ave driven with them on€ there blue and had police pass me and do nuthing then all of a sudden am pulled ans asked nicely to turn them off, we i asked the officer if they are illigal to drvie wih them on, he replied and i qoute "i dont know" i then asked him what would happen if continued to drive with them on, he said i would be arrested for impersonating a emergancy verhicle, what the hell is he on about, i would like to point out that lorrys on the city bypass and motorway driving with massive blue spotlights and neons on all the time and i dont see them getting pulled and told to turn them off, so is this just a case of the police make the law up as they go or are they just picking on people like me that are driving cars that they wish they could have and they go in a jealous rage and bully us because they cant have what i have

and just to add i have to blue neon lights on both sides of my care you cant see the light sorce and they are not pulsing there just a solid blue light

i would appericate if you could let me know

cheers for you help

Seeing as you only joined today and this is your first post, i have to assume you're new to the cruise scene....

If you are showing a blue light to the front or rear, you are commiting an offence. It makes no difference wether or not you can see the bulb- if other road users can see the emitted light, the offence is complete.

The Police have powers under the road traffic act 1988 to stop any car on the road to verify if the driver has a licence and insurance for the vehicle or not.

If you feel the same officers are stopping you time and time again, take a note of their numbers and make a complaint.

I look forward to reading more posts from you.
