Hi there

My old address received a letter through the post for me for a speeding offence, however, obviously I no longer live there. I have changed my address on my license through the dvla.

Also, this was said to have happened in september 07 and thats the letter at my old address arrived today.

So, can you explain the reasons for the above please as I dont know whats happened?

and

Can you tell me what the fine is for doing 51 in a 30.....?
Please and thank you :)

You say you moved address and updated the change on your licence, but did you update your vehicle log book? I suspect your car is/was still registered at your old address and it's taken longer than usual to track you down because of this. This delay is perfectly acceptable to the courts and won't make any difference to the procedure.

As for the punishment, that's for the court to decide. You may get lucky and be offered three points and a £60 fine, but they could also summon you to appear in court.
