what is your personal opinion on harness'? if you were to stop someone wearing one, would you want to check it? do the mountings need to be tested?

Harnesses on a road car are OK, but there is a likelihood that you may be stopped by police officers as they can't see the inertia reel seatbelt that they are usually looking for. Harnesses are generally closer to the body and more difficult to see. I have stopped a few cars like this and provided that I am satisfied that the anchorage points are sufficiently secure, then I don't see that there are any issues with them.
