Yes I know, I've caved and joined the gaming gang again. Bought a PS3 this afternoon, its still in the box but looking ahead to on line gaming I think I need one of these....

Got a Virgin modem with one ethernet socket that the pc is on.

Are these e-bay jobs crap? Should I get something else?

most routers will do pretty much the same job.
i have a netgear wireless one that came from virgin, its decent.

seeing as you said your not fussed about wireless then either of those you posted should be fine anyway.

just remember in this day and age, having wireless is always handy so you should consider a wireless one first, you can still hardwire your ps3 into it aswell.

Cheers K, the console should be sat about 2ft from the PC so shouldn't be a major issue. All wireless ones can still hard wire too though?

yeah, my wireless router has 4 access points so my net, xbox are all hardwired but wireless is good for rainys laptop and any other gadgets that require wifi

i have a wired router here doing nothing in fact i have two here just gathering dust you can have one if you want it.(both are belkin branded)

i have a belkin wired/wireless router here aswell Aly, i cant use itcos i'm on an adsl line cos crappy fife doesnt get cable!!!
