PS3 Download

Alright guys got a PS3 for crimbo but how slow are the downloads on these things!

I have a 10MB conectiong but it just doesnt seem to be going anyware, speeds stay the same wired or wireless rook hours to download the 3.15 firmware on the ps3 but only took 2min on the pc

Anyone know a way of getting these to run faster?

have you actually set it up to your wireless or just assuming because it's picked it up everythings going to be ok??

I've no grumbles with any of the patch update mines does, i'm on a adsl line and it takes about 20 mins to do a full update but then again i'm usually on the pc, or if leighs on the pc i tend to use my phone online which effects the ps3 more

Ive tried it

wired and wireless
Made a DMZ for it
manual set it up

doesnt matter what I do its no going any faster, was thinking servers be slow with all the new ones giving for Xmas

when i first got my ps3 downloads were always quick i'm running 20mb virgin media through wireless but now not so quick, i've just accepted that this is how it is, online gaming and internet runs fine so when it comes to downloading updates i just set it to auto power off after download and do something else

shouldnt take that long mate, sounds like some kind of problem with your connection

I bought one last Christmas and had the same problems ..... every man and his child got one of these things and they're all going to be hitting the servers to get the latest patches/updates. It picked up after a few weeks.

you can download the update onto usb and plug it into the ps3 if you have a usb stick.
