During recent policing events at calton hill, the police brought it to members attention that there have been complaints of cruisers 'talking'.

Who decides what complaints warrant any action being taken or not? And are they completely bereft of any common sense if they dont politely advise the person making such a ridiculous complaint to 'get over themselves' and instead proceed with police action, thus wasting money and resources on something that is completely unwarranted?

I dont think its unreasonable for people, anyone, to be talking anywhere.

As with all complaints to the Police nowadays, they are dealt with at the Force Communications Centre at Bilston. The initial call will be taken by a call handler, who will assess the complaint and "grade" it accordingly for response. It is then passed to the relevant control area who will pass it out to officers when they become available.

Due to the history at the Hill with complaints etc, most calls will be passed to the local officers for attention. It's then down to them and the evidence available on what action they take.
