Hey Guys,

Just a quick question. My cousin is turning 17 in January. When I hit 21 in Feb I'll have been driving for over 3 years and offered my services to go out with him to practice his driving.

He already has a car of his own which is in the process of being Taxed and MOT'd. Can you tell me what insurance would be required for me to be in the car with him while he's learning. Do I need to be on the insurance? (I'm under the impression I do, but I'm getting mixed responses from others).

Sorry if you've answered this before, but I couldn't find any relevant posts when I searched the site.

Cheers
Happy New Year to you both when it comes

Hi,

Sorry for the delay- busy time of year.....

As long as the driver is insured, and the insurers are aware the driver only holds a provisional licence, that will suffice.
