The other night at 2AM i got flashed by one of those traffic light speed cameras!

I am not writing in to express my pain and disgust at myself as IF i DO get charged i will lose my license as i have only 3 points left.

The thing is... i dont understand WHY i got flashed!

This is what happened: i was approaching a junction at 30 mph and it was RED, therefore i took the initiative to slow down and STOP before the white line. But as my car was about to slow to a halt, the lights changed to YELLOW (with the RED light showing as well as this means it's about to turn green). And therefore i drove off. It is at this moment, i saw a flash twice on my mirror!!!

Could someone please give me some help as to why it flashed me?! and will i get prosecuted for this?

Cheers!

The Highway Code stipulates that red and amber, like red alone, signify 'STOP' and you should not proceed until the green signal is displayed. You can request to view the image, and this would confirm what was actually displayed.
