Camera Vans

Can they detect people speeding in either direction? I.e. are they looking out for people approaching the back of the van, approaching the front of the van or both? Also is the camera always at the back, or can they hold it in the front seat for example?

The cameras are directed from the rear of the van only but from there can detect speeders in both directions.
