At Traffic Lights, not the other type....

Does anyone have any knowledge of these, i.e. does everyone have film in etc.

Going along London Road on Friday night, came to the end at the Willowbrae Road turn. The first set of Camera were off (broken I guess) and cars were going through I presumed that trafic was sorting its self out in view of the lask of lights. Went past the light and saw a double flash, then as I went bit further and there were two more flashes. Basically me and the car in front being flashed for going through a red light. At this point I noticed the second set of lights over the road from the junction were red. In my defence I was so full of man flu it wasn't funny - I wasn't the most observant driver, would never go through a red light on purpose.

Firstly will I be done for this?

Secondly, because of the broken light do you think I have any grounds to appeal?

Thirdly, around two years ago a workmate borrowed my car and went through a red light. When the notifications came into the office he "dispossed of them" I only found out last month when he moved back to USA (not the greatest leaving email to send someone...)I have heard nothing since so can only presume they have got so many cases to process that they have just "forgot" about it. Can they come back to me on this and will the incident on friday remind them about this?

Any help would be great, should I post this or a link to in PCLO??

Thanks, a worried member.....

If the traffic light was defective and the red light was not actually displayed, then I would suggest that you have a defence. If there was a camera in the housing (they are rotated between sites) the image taken will show that the light was not displayed.

With regard to your second query, I would say with some degree of certainty that this offence will be 'time barred' and therefore you will most likely not be subjected to proceedings. I don't think that they would be 'reminded' of the previous offence by your recent incident whilst under the influence of 'man-flu'!
