Private Parking Ticket

A few months ago I got a £80 fine ticket stuck on my courtesy car window for parking in a 'private car par', which had the falt number etc on it with 'private parking' signs. There was no indication that fines could be handed out though, and the ticket , which I thought was fake, was asking me to pay £80 to Birmingham. 2 Months have past and I've not heard anything. I take it theyve just left it or was it fake?

It is likely that this car park is patrolled and enforced by a private company on behalf of the site owner. As such, the operator will have a legitimate right to apply for vehicle keepers' details through DVLA in order to pursue civil actions against the owners/drivers of vehicles concerned. Whether they actually do this, or rely on the deterrent effect of simply issuing these tickets is a matter for them.
