Hi

Ive just moved house and have had a complaint from the neighbours about the sound from my exhaust. I was wondering how i can go about checking the noise to see if it is legal or not. I have contacted numerous garages who say they dont have the equipment and to contact the police yet the police are saying take it to a garage.

Help would be appreciated.

The person to contact is PC Rory Campbell, Cruise Liaison Officer for the Scottish Borders, being the expert in exhaust noise monitoring. By chance, he will be hosting the final Young Drivers' Roadshow this Friday in Galashiels, where he will happily measure exhaust noise for anyone interested.
