window tints/ factory

hi there maybe geting a leon in the next few weeks and the guy says that is was got tints all round but not the windscreen and it is factory fited glass how legal is this?

Almost 99% of cars now leave the factory with some form of window tint. All of these companys know the legal limit so the car should be fine.

However, make sure the tints are factory, and have not been added by an owner at some latter stage, thereby making the car illegal. If in doubt, have the garage carry out the checks to ensure it's road legal, because if you get stopped later, it's you that we give the points/fine/prohibition to, not the garage.........

If it's a private sale, ask the owner for some proof that the tints are factory and not a later add-on.
