Some info.
Lastnight i pulled away from calton hill with a little acceleration on my impreza i wasn't giving it beans unlike how it might have sounded
anyway I got pulled over by those lovely men in all black who stepped out in front of me. (un-visable).
Anyway naturally they weren't too pleased and wanted a chat im cool with this and they were okay as well surprisingly as the past week the
police attitude has been a little disappointing I mean three traffic cars so 6x officers around this area and abbeyhill?? Surely there are worse
things to spend money on like stopping drunk drivers?
Anyway im just on a rant.
The car is still registered to the garage i bought the car from down south so they took my details and then had a quick look at the car. Now one
thing i know is it will need new rear tyres as they are worn down and starting to hit the indicator right in the centre of the tyre. Problem is the
garage sold me the car without the locking nuts and i need them drilled off. (had this done to the two fronts for new tyres but it took a while)
Now my point....
The office told me my tyres were illegal by hitting this marking. Can you confirm as my understanding is this is a marking and warning that they
need replaced and until completely smooth ie no ridge you are about to hit the 1.6mm limit? I debated this shall we say as i feel they are border
and i know this but got told if they had a tyre gauge i was getting 6 points.
Also i explained that i knew they were due for replacement and they are as one has a small nail in it which i think is causing it to loose pressure very lightly
I was then told its against the law to knowingly have a nail in the tyre and drive with it like so. Im confused with this one and if he was telling me incorrect information any respect i had for the police is right out the window. If its true i stand back and thank you for making me aware.
