hi there, today while i was at work 2 police officers stopped to have a look at my car, who thought the car was unsafe in its current state

it has 4 axle stands on the recommended points of the car with the wheels underneath, now one of the reasons the police thought it could be unsafe was because of the weather we have had (imo the worst has past and its still not fallen over) i have also sat in the car and moved about inside the car (which isnt really smart i know but the car didnt budge) and another of their concerns was kids knocking into it :? the also asked for an uplift of the car before my next door neighbour went out to find out what was going on. which he told them the car was being broken for parts (which it is) and that it wouldnt be there for long (i have until the end of the month til the tax runs out to get the car scrapped)

i also heard of a law that was supposidy being discussed about working on ur vehicle on a road being illegal but i never heard of the law actually coming into play. did this happen?

they are suppose to be coming back but i have no idea when but police pass my area every day and have seen me working on the car and havnt stopped to have a word or anything.

so where would things stand in this situation?

I would really need to see the car to give a 100% honest answer.

It would come down to what the cops at the time perceive to be dangerous. They would then be required to prove to the court the car was dangerous, and you could try and prove it wasn't.

You could be charged with section 2 of the Road Traffic Act (having a vehicle on a road in a dangerous condition) but again, this would depend on the officers at the time.

If you think it's stable and safe, it should be fine. But if in doubt, get it fixed and back on all four wheels ASAP!!!
